What is the “Argyle Recreation Commission”?   

The Argyle Recreation Commission is a committee consisting of 12 people who assist the Recreation Director in deciding what events take place through the Municipality. 

The mandate of the Argyle Municipal commission is to enhance the quality of life for citizens through development of recreation opportunities, education, community development, leadership development, planning, facility development, and recreation services, utilizing available resources. 

The Commission meets every third Thursday of the month at the Tusket Municipal Office.



 


Are there jobs available and how do I apply?

The Recreation Department hires seasonal help for our daycamps and other summer activities.  Those hired must be full time students and returning to school in September. 

To apply you may pick up an application form at the office, print an application form from our Municipal website and return it to our office, or send us a résumé.  The address to return your application is: P.O. Box 10, Tusket, Yarmouth County, NS, B0W 3M0. 

To apply you also must get a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check.

 

 


 

 

 

How do I register my son or daughter for sporting activities in the community?

Some activities require payment upon registration.  You may call the office at 648-3379 to register your child for most activities.

 

 


  

 

How do I reserve a classroom or the gym at École secondaire de par-en-bas? What are the rental fees?

 

To reserve a classroom or the gym at École secondaire de par-en-bas, you must contact the Recreation Department at 648-3379. 

The fees are as follows:

        • $10 for the cafeteria or a classroom
        • $15 for the gym between 1-4 hours
        • $30 for the gym between 5-8 hours

 

 


 


How do I obtain a receipt for activities my son or daughter participated in?

 

 

Contact the office at 648-3379 and we will be glad to prepare a receipt for you. 

 


 

 

 

Where are all our daycamps located and what is the cost?  What are the hours of operation?

 

 

Daycamps are located at:

        • Wedgeport School
        • West Pubnico School
        • Belleville School
        • Circulating daycamp at East Pubnico playground and at Drumlin School.  

The cost is $6 a day for all the camps other than West Pubnico.  The West Pubnico daycamp costs $4 a day as it is only a half a day.  9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (5-8 years of age) and 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.(9-12 years of age).  The other 3 daycamps are opened from 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.

 

 



What is the Kids First Fund? How do I apply?
 

The Kids First Fund is designed to assist children and families with the costs associated with sport and recreation programs.  The objective of the program is to create opportunities for all children and youth, regardless of socio-economic backgrounds.

To apply, contact the Recreation Department and we will send you an application form.
