 Alain Muise - Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Alain is a resident of Sluice Point along with his wife. Alain joined Argyle as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) in November of 2006. Alain obtained his Chartered Accountancy designation in 1998, and joined Argyle with an extensive background in municipal auditing and finance through his experience at Grant Thornton, Chartered Accountants.
As Chief Administrative Officer, Alain is responsible for the preparation of and held accountable for the annual budget and recommends tax rates to Council. His responsibilities also include human resources management, ensuring each department continues to offer quality services in an efficient manner. The CAO is the sole staff member that is accountable directly to Council, and will ensure that the Municipality runs effectively within its By-laws and policies.
Also, Alain works closely with many outside organizations to ensure municipal responsibilities are met, including but not limited to fire departments, Waste Check, the
Province of
Nova Scotia, and various local community groups and contractors. The CAO’s role is also to work closely with other local municipal units on mutually important matters such as waste management, transportation, and medical services.

 Peggy Boudreau, Revenue Administrator/Accountant
Peggy started with the Municipality in the summer of 1976 and after graduating from high school in 1977, returned for full time employment working in the tax department.
As the Revenue Administrator/Accountant, Peggy’s main responsibilities are the annual tax billing, collections and tax sales. Peggy is also involved with Emergency Measures Organizations and is a long time member and current president of the Association of Municipal Tax Collectors of Nova Scotia.
