Field Maintenance Assistant- Casual - 6 Month Term

The Municipality of Argyle requires an energetic and motivated person to fill the position of Field Maintenance Assistant. The position will help lead a team in the efficient care and maintenance of our municipally controlled recreation facilities, parklands, and sidewalks and shall provide operational support for the Pubnico and Tusket Sewer systems.

Duties shall also include general maintenance at the Argyle Township Courthouse and Archives and other infrastructures owned and/or operated by the Municipality of Argyle. The successful candidate must be able to work well with the public and fellow employees of the Municipality and must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.

The successful candidate should possess a minimum High School Diploma or equivalent or a collegiate degree. Recognized courses in facility maintenance, and sewer treatment plant maintenance would be an asset. A valid provincially recognized trade license, such as small engine repair/mechanic would not be required but would be considered an asset. Bilingualism would also be considered an asset. Recognized safety courses not already achieved by the candidate but required for the job will be supplied by the Municipality.

Salary will depend on experience and education levels and shall be in accordance with the municipal salary range for this position.
