Bridge closure
We have been contacted by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal that the Indian Sluice Bridge will be closed starting on Monday January 30 to Friday Feb 3rd.
The closures will be as follows:
9 am to noon
12:30 to 2:30 pm

The closure is due to required geotechnical investigations surrounding the bridge. The school boards have been advised by DOT, and emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass during this period of time.

Reserved Seats for Students in various Health Care Fields
An important opportunity available for Nova Scotia students who are interested in pharmacy or medicine and would like to do their studies in French. Each year, there are three reserved seats in medicine and two seats in pharmacy at universities in Quebec specifically for Nova Scotia students who are interested in studying in French. These places are subsidized by the CNFS (Consortium National de Formation en Santé) by the fact that the internships are covered so that they can return to their home province and region to do their clinical internships. There are also benefits to identify as francophone student from outside of Quebec when applying to other health programs.
Students who are at Université Ste-Anne and Moncton are well aware of these seats and have taken advantage in the past. Students, who have chosen to go to Anglophone universities, may not be aware of these opportunities. Deadlines for submitting applications under this agreement are in early January, and I would like to ask you your help. Please speak to or pass on the word about these opportunities to students who you know might be interested in furthering their studies in health professions.
There is a lot of competition for these areas of study and the small number of francophone Nova Scotians who apply under this agreement can be beneficial. Please convey my message if you think of someone. All applications must be submitted through me.
Merci!
