Title: Senior Accountant

Position Type: Permanent Full-Time Position

The Senior Accountant supports the Director of Finance in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the municipality. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget development and monitoring, revenue and expenditure tracking, and compliance with municipal policies and applicable financial regulations.

The Senior Accountant assists in the preparation of operating and capital budgets, reviews financial data for accuracy, and supports the development of forecasts and long-term financial plans. They help coordinate audits, prepare monthly and annual financial reports, and will oversee specific areas such as payroll and accounts payable.
