Council has received an application for a Development Agreement for the property located at the property at 4134 Highway 308 (PID 90087388), Tusket to permit a Drive-Through, accessory to a Restaurant in conjunction with as-of-right permitted uses (automotive service station, retail store, and restaurant).
The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 beginning at 6:30 p.m in Council Chambers at 5 Rue J. E. Hatfield Court in Tusket. All persons with an interest in these matters are invited to participate by:

Proposed Amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law
The Council of Municipality of the District of Argyle will be holding a Public Hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law related to variances, setback requirements, home occupations, special use provisions, permitted uses and zone provisions, zone standards with the Pubnico Point Windfarm (WF) Zone, Coastal Community (CC) Zone, Coastal Wetlands (CW) Zone, Definitions and proposed housekeeping changes to amend minor grammatical errors and omissions . A general description of the proposed amendments is provided below.
- Variances: Prohibition on variances permitted via the Development Officer when yards directly abut an identified watercourse or the ocean.
- General Provisions: Minimum yard setbacks for main and/or accessory dwellings when abutting identified watercourses and/or oceanfront.
- Home Occupations: Clarity in language around the portion of space permitted for home occupations.
- Special Uses: Insertion of a Special Uses Minimum Standards Table.
- Permitted Uses and Zone Provisions: Clarity in language in existing table, elimination of dwelling units as accessory uses within the Heavy Industrial (HI) Zone, inclusion of welding/machine shops as a permitted use within the Marine Industrial (MI) Zone.
- Correction of unit of measurement error in the zone standards table for the following zones:
- Pubnico Point Windfarm (WF) Zone
- Coastal Community (CC) Zone
- Coastal Wetlands (CW) Zone
- New definitions for the following uses:
- Restaurant
- Restaurant, Evening Patio
- Amendments to the definition of Automobile Service Station.
