The Municipality of the District of Argyle is soliciting proposals from qualified law firms to provide comprehensive legal services to the municipality. The selected firm will be responsible for advising on a range of legal matters crucial to the effective governance and operation of the municipality.
Period of Desired Legal Services: August 1, 2024, to March 31, 2029, with an option to renew for an additional five (5) fiscal years.
Scope of Services
The legal services required may include, but are not limited to:
- General municipal law advice.
- Litigation representation, including civil, administrative, and regulatory matters.
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Land use and zoning matters.
- Lead the completion of title searches annually, within 30 days from a listing provided by Argyle for Tax Sale.
- Review, drafting, and recommendations on existing and potential bylaws and policies.
- Employment law advice and representation.
- Environmental law advice and compliance.
- Intellectual property matters.
- Any other legal services deemed necessary by Argyle.
